The step-by-step guide to preparing the perfect coffee at home

Making perfect coffee at home is possible—and it doesn't have to be complicated. With a few simple steps, you can extract the best flavor from your beans and transform every cup into a special moment.
The first step is to choose a good coffee. Choose specialty coffees, 100% Arabica, freshly roasted and properly packaged. The grind must be compatible with the chosen method: coarse for a French press, medium for a dripper, and fine for espresso, for example.
Water also makes a difference. Use filtered or mineral water and heat it to about 90 to 96°C (200 to 210°F)—avoiding a full boil preserves the aromas. The coffee-to-water ratio is crucial: a safe average is 10g of coffee for every 100ml of water, adjusting according to taste.
Extraction time directly influences flavor. Ideally, brew for about 4 minutes in a French press; 3 to 4 minutes in a filter; and 25 to 30 seconds in an espresso.
The secret lies in the combination of good ingredients, technique, and care. Want to ensure your next coffee is unforgettable? Try Tia Jô's selected beans and feel the difference.
